The recently held Cappamore Show proved to be great show and MulkearLIFE was thrilled to be there again this year. Despite agricultural shows being cancelled throughout the country on account of the poor summer, yet again the Cappamore Show was blessed with the most wonderful sunny day which resulted in an extremely large crowd attending. The wonderful dry elevated site and fine weather ensured a great day was had by all.

MulkearLIFE was delighted once again to greet so many local farmers and offer advice on general riparian management to farmers and landowners with river frontage. The project also outlined the work presently underway within the local farming community on various rivers throughout the Mulkear catchment. There was a considerable level of interest in this work. The problems arising out of the very wet summer was a cause of concern to many farmers.

The Project Team greeted hundreds of visitors and was delighted to be able to give out free gifts to the many children who answered questions on the rich biodiversity of the Mulkear. The event also proved an excellent opportunity to network with project partners and supporters in the Irish Farmers Association and the parents and students of local schools who have been, or who wish to be, part of the project’s Environmental Education Programme.

The Cappamore Show continues to lead the way in terms of its overall ranking as one of the top One Day Shows in Ireland. MulkearLIFE would like to sincerely thank the Show Committee and all involved in making the show such a great success again this year.
One late visitor to the LIFE stand was Elvis – who dropped by to say hello.
