Last week MulkearLIFE / Inland Fisheries Ireland announced details of the three events to be hosted during Heritage Week 2012 which runs from Saturday 18 to Sunday 26 August. Individual PDF posters advertising theese three events are now available here. Please use these posters to advertise the events in your locality and to your friends and colleagues.
The first event being hosted by MulkearLIFE / IFI is a field trip entitled ‘The Magical Mulkear: A Field Trip Of Discovery’. This free event will take place on Saturday, 18 August 2012 and will involve a bus excursion to visit a range of exciting sites throughout the catchment. Places on this field trip are limited and pre-booking is required (Tel. 061 300 238 or email@example.com). The bus will depart the Mill Bar Car Park, Annacotty @ 09.30hrs returning 15.00hrs. The second event will involve an early morning start on Monday, 20 August at 07.00hrs lasting approximately two hours. The event is entitled Exploring Sea Lamprey Passage and Biodiversity in the Mulkear Catchment. The early morning start is required to view Sea Lamprey pass over Annacotty Weir. The meeting point is the car park area of Annacotty Weir (next to the Mill Bar) and the event is open to all. If the river is in flood the event may be cancelled. The third event, entitled ‘Exploring Biodiversity in the Upper Bilboa and Kilcommon, Co. Tipperary’ will take place on Thursday, 23 August at 12 midday and last two hours approximately. The meeting point is the Square, Kilcommon village. The event, which is open to all and is especially suited for younger children, will review the biodiversity found in and along the Upper Bilboa at Kilcommon.
